A group coaching program has one arc. Participants start together, do the work between sessions, and finish together. The live call is one part of that arc. The program is the rest: what opens this week, what they complete before the next session, and whether you can see who has gone quiet.
What a group coaching program needs
A shared schedule. Sections open on dates you set, so the group is on the same week.
Work between the sessions. A worksheet or a task list holds what they do before the next call.
A live session on the program calendar, with the meeting link on the event.
A channel where the group talks between calls.
Checkout that can close. A cap on how many people can enroll, a deadline, and a code for people who pay early.
Progress you can see. Who finished the work, who came to the session, and who has gone quiet.
A way to run the next cohort without rebuilding the program.
For a longer look at designing that arc, see How to structure a group coaching program.
How upcoach runs group coaching
upcoach is the platform for building, selling, and running structured programs. Group Coaching is one of the program types. A program type starts you with scaffolding for that format, instead of an empty program. You name it, set the dates, and add your material.
Content on a schedule. Each section can have a release date and time. Before that moment, participants see the section and a countdown, and they cannot open it. When the time arrives, the section unlocks and they get a notification. A section with no release date is available as soon as someone has access. That is how a week opens for the whole group on the same day. See Schedule content releases.
Order inside the week. Prerequisites lock a module until the required modules in that same section are finished. You can require the lesson before the worksheet, and the worksheet before anything you want done ahead of the live session. The release date decides when the week appears. The prerequisites decide the order inside it. See Set up conditions and prerequisites.
Between-session work. Worksheets are activities participants complete once. Question types include open answers and a linear scale, so a prompt can be a reflection or a rating. You can read each response, or see the group together. Task lists are checklists for the actions before the next session. Each participant has their own completion, including who has not started. See Use worksheets for exercises and Use task lists.
Live sessions. The Events app schedules group sessions inside the program. A session can be one event or a recurring series. Put the meeting link on the event. Attendance is recorded, and you can ask for feedback after the session. See Create and manage events.
Talk between sessions. Channels are a discussion space inside the program, so the group stays in one place between calls. See Use channels for discussion.
Checkout. An offer is the checkout page for the program. You can add more than one price, such as a one-time payment, a subscription, or an installment plan. You can set an enrollment cap and a deadline. When the cap is reached or the deadline passes, the offer shows as sold out or closed. A coupon is a promo code on that checkout, including an early-bird code with an end date, on the Stripe account you connect. See Create an offer and Create coupons and discounts.
Progress. Space Reports cover one program: section and module progress, which activities people finished, event attendance, and each participant’s last active date. Client Reports cover one participant across the programs you share with them, including activities completed, worksheets completed, tasks completed, and events attended. See Track participant progress with reports.
Stop silent drift between sessions
People drift in the days after a call, when the next session is still a week away. The work has to live in the program, where you can see it.
A task list shows who has not started, who is partway through, and who is done, down to the item. A worksheet shows whether the reflection or the rating came in. Space Reports list progress and last active date for every participant, plus who attended the session. Sort by progress or last active and the quiet names are in front of you before the next call.
The channel stays in the same program. The conversation, the work, and the session are one place, so a quiet week is visible while you can still do something about it.
Run the next cohort without rebuilding it
- Duplicate the program. From Admin Area > Spaces, or from the program name in the sidebar, choose Duplicate. Set the new name and start date. Section release dates shift to match that start date, and you can override any of them before you confirm. Participants, their answers, and their progress stay on the original program. See Duplicate a program.
- Duplicate the offer from Sell. The copy includes the prices, which program it unlocks, and the checkout page, and it is created as a draft. Copied prices start inactive, so you turn on the price for this run. The enrollment deadline is cleared, so you set the window for this cohort. Point the new offer at the duplicated program before you publish and send the checkout link.
- Open the new program and check the first session time and the section release dates. Replace anything that belonged only to the last cohort, such as the welcome note. Send the new checkout link only after the offer points at this program.
FAQ
What is group coaching software?
Group coaching software is where you build, sell, and run a group coaching program. Participants share one arc, meet for live sessions, complete work between those sessions, and you can see who is keeping up. upcoach is the platform for that kind of program.
What does the group do between sessions?
They complete the worksheet or the task list in the current section, and they can talk in the program channel. Prerequisites can keep that work ahead of the live session. You see completion on the activity and in Space Reports.
How many participants should be in the group?
You choose the size. Set an enrollment cap on the offer when you want checkout to close. Keep the group small enough that people can speak in the live session. When you need more seats, run the next cohort instead of stretching this one.
How do I run the next cohort?
Duplicate the program and set the new start date. Section release dates shift with that date. Participants and their answers stay on the original program. Duplicate the offer, set the enrollment window, turn the price on, and point the new offer at the duplicated program before you publish and send the checkout link.
