Contents
A challenge is a short run of focused work with one clear win. It is often how new people first meet your methodology. It works when each day’s content arrives on time, participants can see the group’s progress, and the last day points to a clear next step. This page is for coaches, trainers, and program creators who run a challenge as the entry point to a structured program.
What a challenge needs from its platform
A daily schedule, where each day’s content unlocks on time.
One small action per day that participants can finish and check off.
A shared place for announcements and wins, where people can react and comment, so momentum is visible.
A simple registration page, including free registration, with a clear close date.
Visibility into who started, who kept going, and who finished.
A clear next step at the end, and a fast way to run the challenge again.
For the format guide, see Run a Challenge on upcoach.
How upcoach runs a challenge
upcoach is the platform for building, selling, and running structured programs. Challenge is a program type with format-aware scaffolding. Challenge is listed in the type gallery, and the type detail page shows what will be generated before you create the program. See Program types and Understand program types.
Each day’s content. Each section can have a release date and time. Before that moment, participants see the section in the sidebar with a countdown. When the time arrives, the section unlocks and they get a notification. See Schedule content releases.
Order inside the day. You can lock a module until the required modules in that section are complete. The release date decides when the day appears. The prerequisites decide the order inside it. See Set up conditions and prerequisites.
The day’s action. A task list is the checklist for that day. Each participant has their own completion state, so you can see who finished the action. See Use task lists and Accountability activities.
Reflections. A worksheet holds the reflection. A submitted response has threaded comments, so you can reply on the response itself, and the group can too when responses are visible to members. See Use worksheets and Worksheet response comments.
A daily pulse. A check-in collects a regular response, such as a pulse or a metric. When a response is visible, people can react to it and comment on it. See Use check-ins and Check-in comments and reactions.
Announcements and wins. The feed is the board for announcements and wins. A post notifies participants. Participants comment, reply, and react. Sort the feed by most reactions or most commented. See Use the feed for announcements.
Questions. A channel is a discussion space inside the program, so questions stay with this challenge. See Use channels for discussion.
Live kickoffs. The Events app schedules a kickoff inside the program. A kickoff can be a single event or a recurring series. Put the meeting link on the event, and set reminders. See Create and manage events.
Registration. An offer is the registration page for the program. An offer can include a free price option, so people join with no payment. You can set an enrollment deadline. When the deadline passes, the offer shows as closed. Current plans are on the pricing page. See Create an offer and Sell programs and bundles.
Which channels fill it. Each offer shows page visits, conversion rate, referrers, and a UTM breakdown, so you can see which sources brought registrations. See Track offer performance and Offer analytics.
Who finished. Space Reports show section and module completion for this program, so you can see who completed each day. See Track participant progress with reports and Progress tracking and reporting.
Invites. Invite participants by email. Each person gets an email with a link to join. See Invite participants.
Run it again.
- Duplicate the program. From Admin Area > Spaces, or from the program name in the sidebar, choose Duplicate. Set the new name and start date. Section release dates shift to match that start date, and you can override any of them before you confirm. Participants, their answers, and their progress stay on the original program. See Duplicate a program.
- Duplicate the offer from Sell. The copy includes the checkout page and which program it unlocks, and it is created as a draft. The enrollment deadline is cleared, so you set the close date for this run. Point the new offer at the duplicated program, set the enrollment deadline, and publish. See Duplicate offers.
Turn the last day into the next program
The last day points to the next structured offer: a cohort, a group program, a mastermind, or one-to-one work. See cohort-based course platform, group coaching software, and mastermind platform.
Offer analytics show which referrers and UTM sources brought registrations. Space Reports show who finished each day’s work, so follow-up goes to the people who completed the challenge.
For the habits that keep people through to the outcome, see client retention for coaches.
FAQ
How is a challenge different from a bootcamp or a cohort course?
A challenge is a short arc with one small action each day, and it is often the entry point to a longer program. A cohort course has one start, one pace, and one finish. See cohort-based course platform. For a bootcamp, see bootcamp platform.
Can people join for free?
Yes. An offer supports a free price option and an enrollment deadline. When the deadline passes, the offer shows as closed. Plan details are on the pricing page.
How many days should a challenge run?
You choose the length. Put each day in its own section and set a release date for that section. Keep the arc short enough that people can see the end, and long enough for the one win you set.
Can I run the challenge again?
Yes. Duplicate the program and set the new start date. Section release dates shift with that date. Participants and their answers stay on the original program. Duplicate the offer. Point the new offer at the duplicated program, set the enrollment deadline, and publish.
