Schedule content releases
Release sections on a schedule to drip content to participants over time. Instead of making everything available at once, you can unlock sections week by week or on specific dates.
How scheduled releases work
Each section can have a release date and time. Before that date, the section is hidden from participants. When the release time arrives:
- The section becomes visible and accessible
- All participants in the program receive a notification
- Participants can begin working through the section’s content
Sections without a release date are available immediately.
Set a release date
- Open the Coaching & Learning app in your program.
- Create a new section or edit an existing one.
- Set the release date — the calendar date when the section should become available.
- Set the release time — the specific time of day.
The release is scheduled in your organization’s timezone. upcoach converts this to UTC internally to ensure accurate delivery regardless of where your participants are located.
Change or remove a release date
To modify a scheduled release:
- Edit the section.
- Change the date and time, or clear it to make the section immediately available.
If you change the release date, any previously scheduled notification is cancelled and a new one is created for the updated time.
Timezone handling
Release dates respect your organization’s timezone setting. When you set “March 20 at 9:00 AM,” that means 9:00 AM in your configured timezone.
upcoach handles daylight saving time transitions automatically, so your releases always fire at the local time you intended.
Tips for drip content
- Weekly releases — Set each section to release one week apart for a cohort-based cadence
- Pre-load everything — Build all your content first, then set release dates. You can edit content even after scheduling
- Combine with events — Align section releases with your group session schedule so participants have content ready before each call
- Review before release — Published sections go live at the scheduled time. Make sure content is finalized before the release date arrives
