A mastermind’s value lives between sessions as well as in them. People who curate a peer-advisory room need the live sessions, a way for members to know each other, checkout they can close, and a clear view of attendance and engagement, in one place they control.
What a mastermind needs from its platform
A session cadence the room can count on.
Spaces that belong to this room, so the conversation between sessions stays with these members.
A structured intro, and a way for the room to respond to it.
Checkout you can close. An enrollment limit keeps the room at the size you chose.
Attendance and engagement you can see before the next session.
A fast way to run the next cohort from the program you already built.
For the steps to open a room, see How to start a mastermind group. For the format guide, see Run a Mastermind on upcoach.
How upcoach runs a mastermind
upcoach is the platform for building, selling, and running structured programs. Mastermind is a program type with format-aware setup and a checklist. You name it, set the dates, and add what this room needs. See Program types, Understand program types, and Use the program setup checklist.
Live sessions. The Events app schedules sessions inside the program. A session can be one event or a recurring series, on the cadence you set. Put the meeting link on the event. You record attendance, and you can ask for feedback after the session. The event panel has Host Notes and Transcript tabs next to Description. Host Notes are private to the event’s hosts. Organization admins and owners can open them too, unless they are in that space only as a participant or sponsor. Participants see the transcript once it has content. See Create and manage events and Host Notes and transcripts.
Between sessions. Channels are a discussion space inside the program, so this room talks in one place between calls. The feed is the program’s board for updates and discussion. An admin can pin one message to the top of a channel, and that pin stays visible above the conversation. Members can send a voice note, a video, or a screen recording from inside the channel. See Use channels for discussion, Use the feed for announcements, Pin important messages, Pin channel messages, and Record voice, video, and screen messages.
Member intros. A worksheet is a set of questions a member completes once. Open-answer questions hold the intro. By default, everyone in the program can see each other’s responses, and you can limit that view to admins. A submitted response has threaded comments, so the room can reply on the intro itself. See Use worksheets and Worksheet response comments.
Checkout. An offer is the checkout page for the program. You can add more than one price, such as a one-time payment, a subscription, or an installment plan. You can set an enrollment cap and a deadline. When the cap is reached or the deadline passes, the offer shows as sold out or closed. A coupon is a promo code on that checkout, including a code with an end date, on the Stripe account you connect. See Create an offer, Create coupons and discounts, and Set up payments with Stripe.
The next cohort.
- Duplicate the program. From Admin Area > Spaces, or from the program name in the sidebar, choose Duplicate. Set the new name and start date. Section release dates shift to match that start date, and you can override any of them before you confirm. Members, their answers, and their progress stay on the original program. The copy keeps each app’s name and settings, and module prerequisite locks and ordering carry over. See Duplicate a program and June to October: duplicated spaces.
- Duplicate the offer from Sell. The copy includes the prices, which program it unlocks, and the checkout page, and it is created as a draft. Copied prices start inactive, so you turn on the price for this run. The enrollment deadline is cleared, so you set the window for this cohort. Point the new offer at the duplicated program before you publish and send the checkout link. See Duplicate offers and Copied prices start inactive.
- Open the new program and check the first session time. Replace anything that belonged only to the last room, such as the welcome note. Send the new checkout link only after the offer points at this program.
Owners and organization admins can also build or edit the program from Claude or ChatGPT through the upcoach MCP. That includes sections and worksheets, events (including a recurring series), feed posts, and channel messages. See Connect AI tools with MCP and Build programs from your AI assistant.
Keep the room warm between sessions
The days after a session are part of the room. The conversation, the intros, and the attendance live in the program, where you can see them before you meet again.
Space Reports cover this program: section and module progress, which activities people finished, event attendance, and each member’s last active date. Sort by progress or last active and you see who has been in the room lately. Client Reports cover one member across the programs you share with them, including activities completed, worksheets completed, and events attended. See Track participant progress with reports.
The channel and the feed stay in the same program as the sessions. A pinned message can hold the question for the next meeting. A voice note, a video, or a screen recording keeps a point in the member’s own words. What you can show is attendance, engagement, and progress on those reports.

FAQ
How is a mastermind different from group coaching?
A mastermind is a curated peer room. Members take the hot seat, and the room works that person’s question. Group coaching is facilitator-led: a shared curriculum, live sessions, and work between those sessions. See group coaching software and How to structure a group coaching program.
How many members should be in the room?
You choose the size. Keep it a curated small group, so people can speak and the peer conversation stays specific. Set an enrollment cap on the offer when you want checkout to close. When you need another room, run the next cohort.
Can I run the next cohort without rebuilding?
Yes. Duplicate the program and set the new start date. Section release dates shift with that date. Members and their answers stay on the original program. Duplicate the offer, set the enrollment window, turn the price on, and point the new offer at the duplicated program before you publish and send the checkout link.
How do I show that the room worked?
Use the reports for this program. Space Reports show progress, event attendance, and each member’s last active date. Client Reports show one member’s completed activities, completed worksheets, and events attended. That is attendance, engagement, and progress for the room you ran.
