Cookie Policy

Version: 2.0

This Cookie Policy explains how upcoach LLC (“upcoach”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on upcoach.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle personal data more broadly.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to site owners. We also use similar technologies such as browser local storage for the same purposes — in this policy, “cookies” covers all of these.

2. Who we are

upcoach LLC 16192 Coastal Highway Lewes, Delaware 19958 County of Sussex, United States

Privacy contact: [email protected]

3. How we categorize cookies and scripts

We use three categories:

Strictly necessary — required for the site to function, to deliver a service you specifically requested, or to meet a legal obligation. These are always on. You cannot disable them through our banner (you can block them in your browser, but this may break the site).

Analytics — help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We do not currently load any third-party analytics vendors in this category. Our own visitor counter (Plausible, self-hosted) does not set cookies and does not track you across sites, so it is classified as strictly necessary rather than analytics.

Marketing — advertising, affiliate attribution, or messaging campaigns that involve third-party processors. We do not currently load any scripts from this category unconditionally. See “Scripts that load on interaction” below.

4. Scripts and cookies we use

Scripts that always load

Cloudflare — our hosting and content delivery provider. Does not set cookies on upcoach.com through our use. Strictly necessary (infrastructure).

upcoach consent manager — the banner and preference interface itself. Sets the upcoach_consent cookie when you make a choice. Strictly necessary.

Plausible Analytics (self-hosted) — our visitor counter, hosted on our own infrastructure at upcoach.com/upcoach-wa/. Does not set cookies, does not track you across sites, does not build a profile of you. Strictly necessary, consistent with guidance from CNIL and ICO on first-party, cookieless audience measurement.

ProfitWell Retain — failed-payment recovery for existing customers. Inactive for anonymous visitors. Only interacts with your browser if you arrived via a payment-recovery link sent to a current customer. Strictly necessary for those visitors (performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR — the service you requested by following the recovery link).

Rewardful — affiliate attribution. Only activates when you arrive with a ?ref= parameter in the URL. Does not load for direct visitors. Strictly necessary for visitors arriving via affiliate links (performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR — attribution is the service you requested by following the affiliate link).

Scripts that load on interaction

These scripts do not run on page load. They load only when you take a specific action that requests the service.

Intercom (support chat) — loads when you click the chat launcher button. Once loaded, Intercom sets cookies to maintain your chat identity and session.

Calendly (demo booking) — loads when you click “Book demo” or similar buttons on our contact pages. Once loaded, Calendly may set cookies to maintain your booking session.

Vimeo (video player) — loads when you click play on a video embed. We use Vimeo’s no-cookie variant (player.vimeo.com with dnt=1), which prevents Vimeo from tracking you across sites. Vimeo may still set a small number of cookies strictly to run the player.

5. Cookies set on upcoach.com

For anonymous visitors who do not interact with the site (no consent choice made, no chat opened, no demo booked, no video played, no affiliate link arrival), no cookies are set.

The table below lists cookies that may be set depending on your actions:

You can change your consent choice at any time:

  • From our cookie preferences page, linked in the site footer
  • By clicking the relevant option in the consent banner when it next appears

If you reject all non-essential cookies, your choice is recorded for 12 months. After that, we’ll ask again.

Because the Analytics and Marketing categories currently have no scripts behind them, rejecting them doesn’t change what happens during your visit today. The toggles are in place so that if we ever add such scripts, your existing preference applies immediately.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies directly. This is independent of our consent banner. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from working. Instructions vary by browser — search for “manage cookies” in your browser’s help.

8. Global Privacy Control

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends GPC, we treat it as an explicit rejection of non-essential cookies and record it as your consent choice. You do not need to interact with the banner separately.

We do not treat the older Do Not Track (DNT) header as a consent signal — its meaning was never standardized — but we do pass dnt=1 to Vimeo on your behalf, disabling Vimeo’s cross-site tracking.

9. Third-party services and international transfers

Some services listed above are operated by providers based outside your country. Where your personal data is transferred to these providers, we rely on the transfer mechanisms described in our Privacy Policy (including EU Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable).

10. Changes to this policy

When we make a material change — for example, adding a new category of cookies or a new vendor with a different purpose — we will update the version number, re-show the consent banner to ask for your choice again, and note the change here.
