Hide participants from each other

Hide participants from each other

Participants in a shared program can see each other in the Members list unless you hide it. The same list is what people mean by a member directory. Clients and students are participants here.

Hiding the list does not hide names in a channel or on the feed. It also does not hide worksheet, task list, or check-in responses. Those have their own visibility setting.

Hide the Members list

  1. Open the program.
  2. In the sidebar, hover Members (or the name you gave that app).
  3. Open the ellipsis menu and select Edit.
  4. In Members Settings, turn on Hide from members.
  5. Click Update App.

Owners, admins, and implementation admins still see Members. An eye-slash icon on that sidebar item reads Hidden from members. An owner or admin who is a participant or sponsor in that space, and is outside the Admin Area, does not see the list. Program admins, facilitators, sponsors, and participants do not see the Members list while this is on.

One-on-one coaching and one-on-one program types start with Hide from members turned on. Other program types start with the list visible.

Keep activity responses private

Open a worksheet, task list, or check-in and select Settings. Under Participant Visibility:

  • Self only — each participant sees only their own response. On a task list, they see only their own progress.
  • All participants — participants see each other’s responses. On a worksheet or check-in they can also comment and react. On a task list they see each other’s progress.

Click Save when you can edit the activity in place and it lives in one program. Click Save All Copies when it lives in several programs and you can update them together. Click Save as New Copy when you cannot edit it in place. That saves a new copy with your visibility choice.

Owners, admins, program admins, facilitators, and sponsors still see everyone’s responses and progress.

Lessons do not have this setting.

Give each person their own space

On an offer, Space Type can be Shared Space or Private Space. Shared Space puts every buyer in the same program. Private Space gives each buyer their own copy, which is the usual setup for one-to-one work. See Create an offer.
