Set a start and end date for a program

A program, space, or course can run on a schedule. The start date is when enrolled participants gain access to the available content. The end date is informational. Participants keep access to the space after that date.

Set the dates

  1. Open the program.
  2. Hover the program name in the sidebar, open the ellipsis menu, and select Settings.
  3. Open the Availability tab.
  4. Turn on Set Start & End Dates.
  5. Set Start Date and End Date. The end date must be after the start date.
  6. Click Save Changes.

Dates and times use your organization’s timezone. Participants see dates and countdowns in their own timezone.

On Admin Area > Spaces, the Duration column shows the start date plus a length, such as 15 October 2026 • 12 weeks, when the program has a start date and an end date. A program shorter than a week shows days instead of weeks. When either date is missing, the column reads No Start & End Date. The Duration filter Has start/end date includes programs that have a start date, an end date, or both. A program with only a start date stays in that list, and its Duration column still reads No Start & End Date.

Early access

With start and end dates on, you can turn on Enable Early Access and set an Early Access Date before the start date.

Early access lets enrolled participants open parts of the space, such as the Members directory and activities that are already available, before the start date. It does not open a section that has its own future release date.

What the end date does not do

The end date does not remove participants, and it does not lock the content. upcoach does not offer a setting that ends someone’s access on a date you pick.

Use the closest option for what you need:

  • Unpublish the program to take it offline and keep the content. Publish it again when people should return. See Publish your program.
  • Section release dates open curriculum on a schedule. They unlock a section. They do not close it later. See Schedule content releases.

Contact the team if you need a participant’s access to end on a specific date. The team usually replies within 1 business day.
