What participants do

Each week opens with its section. Members do the check-in before the pod call, so everyone arrives knowing what they'll report. Set up one program per pod, or one program with several pods meeting at different times.

  1. Week 1

    Form the pod

    • Lesson

      How an accountability pod works

A pod is four to six people who each set one goal for the next four weeks and meet for 30 minutes every week to report on it. It works because saying out loud what you'll do, to people who will ask about it next week, makes you more likely to do it.

Each call follows the same shape: a two-minute opening, then three or four minutes per member (what I said I'd do, what I did, what I'll do next), and a two-minute close. Choose a goal small enough to finish or measure in four weeks.

    • Worksheet

      Pod agreement

      1. What's your one goal for the next four weeks? Make it something you can finish or measure.
      2. How will you and your pod know you've done it?
      3. What will you report on each week's call?
      4. What should your pod do if you miss a weekly commitment? (For example: ask what got in the way, help you choose a smaller next step.)
      5. What's one rule you want everyone in the pod to keep? (For example: what's said in the pod stays in the pod, cameras on, start on time.)
      6. If you can't make a call, how will you tell the pod, and by when?
    • Task list

      Meet your pod

      • Fill in your pod agreement
      • Put the weekly pod call in your calendar
      • Write your goal in one sentence, ready to say on the first call
      • Agree with your pod how you'll reach each other between calls
    • Check-in

      Week 1 goal check-in

      1. How much progress did you make on your goal this week? (1 = none, 5 = a lot)
      2. What did you do this week toward your goal?
      3. What will you do next week?
    • Live call

      Pod call 1: goals

30 minutes. Each member says their goal in one sentence and the rule they want the pod to keep; the pod agrees on its rules before the close.

You add this call once the Events app is on the program: see “Then add the weekly pod call” below.

  2. Week 2

    Midpoint

    • Check-in

      Week 2 goal check-in

      1. How much progress did you make on your goal this week? (1 = none, 5 = a lot)
      2. What did you do this week toward your goal?
      3. What will you do next week?
    • Check-in

      Midpoint pulse

      1. How useful is the pod for you so far? (1 = not at all, 5 = very)
      2. How well is the weekly call working? (1 = not well, 5 = very well)
      3. Is your goal still the right size? (Too big, about right, too small)
      4. What's one change that would make the pod more useful for the last two weeks?
    • Live call

Pod call 2: progress and reset

30 minutes. Each member reports what they said, what they did and what's next. Close by agreeing on one change from the pulse answers, and resize any goal that is too big.

You add this call once the Events app is on the program: see “Then add the weekly pod call” below.

  3. Week 3

    Keep going

    • Lesson

      When progress stalls

Week 3 is when energy usually drops: the start is behind you and the finish isn't close yet. If you're stuck, make the next step smaller, small enough to do in 20 minutes this week, and tell your pod exactly when you'll do it.

If you missed a commitment, say so on the call. Your pod can only help with what you tell them.

    • Check-in

      Week 3 goal check-in

      1. How much progress did you make on your goal this week? (1 = none, 5 = a lot)
      2. What did you do this week toward your goal?
      3. What will you do next week?
    • Live call

Pod call 3: what's in the way

30 minutes. Each member reports, then names one thing in the way; the pod suggests one smaller next step for each.

You add this call once the Events app is on the program: see “Then add the weekly pod call” below.

  4. Week 4

    Wrap up

    • Check-in

      Week 4 goal check-in

      1. How much progress did you make on your goal this week? (1 = none, 5 = a lot)
      2. What did you do this week toward your goal?
      3. What's your next step after this pod?
    • Worksheet

      Wrap-up reflection

      1. Did you reach your goal? Fully, partly or not yet: where does it stand now?
      2. What helped you most over the four weeks?
      3. What got in the way, and what did you do about it?
      4. What did you learn about how you keep commitments?
      5. What did another pod member say or do that helped you?
      6. What's your next goal, and will you keep meeting as a pod?
    • Live call

      Pod call 4: wrap-up

30 minutes. Each member shares where their goal stands and one thing they learned, then the pod decides whether to keep meeting.

You add this call once the Events app is on the program: see “Then add the weekly pod call” below.

Run it in upcoach

Two ways to set it up

Either way you get a normal upcoach program you can edit, publish and invite people to when you're ready.

With your AI assistant

  1. Start your free trial with the button on this page.
  2. Connect your AI assistant to upcoach: how to connect AI tools.
  3. Copy the prompt below, fill in your start date and paste it into your assistant. You don't need to create the program first.
  4. It builds the training as a draft program: a section for each week, with the lessons, worksheets, task lists and check-ins in this outline. Nothing is published and no one is invited until you choose.
  5. Add the Events app (program + > Add an app > Events), then paste the follow-up prompt to add the weekly calls.

Or build it by hand from the outline

It's a normal upcoach program. Create a program, add a section for each week, and add each lesson, worksheet, task list and check-in from the outline above, copying the text and questions from this page. Add the Events app to the program for the weekly calls.

The prompt

Copy this into your AI assistant

It holds the instruction and the whole outline. Replace [your start date] before you paste it.

Prompt
Here's a training outline. Build it as a draft program in upcoach called "Accountability pod kickoff":
one section per week, released weekly from my start date ([your start date]), with a lesson,
worksheet, task list or check-in for each item, using the text and questions word for word.
Questions marked (1 = ..., 5 = ...) are 1-5 scales.
Leave out the live calls for now: I'll add the Events app to the program first and ask you for them after.
Don't publish the program or invite anyone. When you're done, list what you created so I can check it.

Then add the weekly pod call

The prompt above leaves the calls out, because a new program has no Events app yet. Once the AI has made the program, add the app yourself: open the program, choose + > Add an app > Events. Then fill in your details and paste this follow-up prompt.

Follow-up prompt
I've added the Events app to the program "Accountability pod kickoff". Add the weekly pod call as a recurring event series: 30 minutes, every [day] at [time] [time zone], 4 calls starting [date of the first call], with this meeting link: [link]. Then list the events you created so I can check them.

Questions

Who is this training for?

Coaches running group programs, peer cohorts and team leads who want members to keep each other on track. It's built for pods of four to six; for a bigger group, split it into several pods.

How do I get this training into upcoach?

Connect your AI assistant to upcoach, then paste the prompt on this page. It builds the training as a draft program: a section for each week with its release date, the lessons in our words, and the worksheets, task list and check-ins with these questions. Or build it by hand from the outline: it's a normal upcoach program. How to connect your AI assistant

Does the prompt add the weekly pod calls?

Not the first prompt. Calls need the Events app in the program: open the program, choose + > Add an app > Events, then paste the follow-up prompt and the assistant adds the weekly calls.

Will participants see it as soon as it's built?

No. It's built as a draft: nothing is published and no one is invited until you choose to.
