Pin Important Messages to the Top of Channels

Channels now support pinned messages. Program admins can pin any message — an announcement, a kickoff brief, the link to this week’s call — and it stays visible in a banner at the top of the channel for everyone, no matter how far the conversation scrolls. Click the banner to jump straight to the original message in context.

• Admin-only pinning — pin/unpin lives in the message actions menu and is gated by channel permissions, so participants can read pinned content but can’t change it
• One pin per channel — pinning a new message auto-unpins the previous one, keeping the banner focused on what matters right now
• Inline system message — every pin and unpin leaves a small system note in the channel timeline, so members see when the focus shifted and who changed it
• Live across sessions — the banner updates in real time for everyone in the channel via the existing realtime stream; no refresh needed
• Jump-to-message — clicking the banner scrolls and highlights the original message, even if it’s hundreds of messages back
