Welcome to your first step in upcoach! This guide will show you how to create a program using our ready-made templates and customize it to match your coaching style. By the end of this guide, you’ll have a fully personalized program where your clients will interact and engage.

1. Creating Your Program
Get Started with a Template:
Navigate: Go to the Admin Panel > Programs page.
Add a Program: Click the “+” button.
Select a Template: Choose the Productivity Coaching Program Template (or any other template that suits your style).
Tip: Each template comes with two sample Smart Documents and one sample Course to help you see what’s possible.
After clicking the template, upcoach will automatically create your first program. Welcome to your new coaching program!
2. Understanding Blocks & the Left Navigation Menu
What Are Blocks?
Blocks are the building elements of your program. They add functionality and design elements – from task management to FAQs.
Example: To assign tasks, add the Task Block.
Left Navigation Menu:
This menu shows what your program offers and helps clients navigate between different sections.
You can easily customize the menu by adding, removing, or reordering pages and blocks.
3. Using the Program Editor
Accessing the Editor:
Step 1: Click the settings button next to your program’s name.
Step 2: Select the Editor option from the admin actions list.
Note: The editor displays all available blocks on the right; these are your program’s functional modules (e.g., Tasks, Courses, Events).
Customizing Blocks:
Update Settings: Select a block (for example, the Tasks Block) to see its settings.
Change the Title: For instance, update “Tasks” to “Your To-Do’s.”
Adjust Visibility: In the Task Block settings, toggle the “Members see each other’s tasks” option according to your group coaching preferences.
Visual Feedback: Changes are reflected immediately on the canvas, helping you see your design in real time.
Important: Content cannot be added directly in the editor (i.e., you cannot create new tasks or events here). Use the editor solely for structural customization.

In upcoach, you can add as many clients as you like to a program. If you add just one client, it becomes a 1-on-1 program. If you add multiple clients, it's a group program.
So, this setting is especially useful if you're running group programs.
In group coaching, some coaches prefer that members can see each other's tasks to foster accountability, while others don’t. If you’d rather keep tasks private, simply toggle off the "Members can see each other’s tasks" setting. 😉 This also applies to interactive Smart Documents and Habits — visibility settings work the same way!
4. Reordering, Adding, & Removing Blocks
Reordering Blocks:
Drag and drop blocks to reorder them within the canvas. This helps you prioritize what your clients see first.
Adding a Block:
Navigate to the desired page (e.g., “Welcome to Powerhouse”).
Drag the Video Block from the block list onto the canvas at the desired location.
Update the block settings:
Title: Change to “Welcome Video.”
Description: Add a short instruction such as “Please watch this video as the first step!”
Video URL: Paste the URL of your welcome video (from YouTube, Vimeo, etc.).
Removing a Block:
To remove an unwanted block (e.g., the Coach Spotlight block), select it.
Click the Delete button in the block settings panel and confirm the removal.
5. Managing Pages and Navigation
What Are Pages?
Pages help organize blocks into a structured, easy-to-navigate layout. They are reflected in the left navigation menu.
You can have a single-page program or multiple pages depending on your needs.
How to Manage Pages:
Click the Manage Pages button.
Edit Pages: Rename pages (e.g., change “Welcome to Powerhouse” to “Welcome”).
Reorder Pages: Drag and drop pages to reorder them.
Click Save to apply changes. The updated navigation appears immediately in your program.
Tip: You can move blocks between pages without losing any data. Just click the move icon in the top-right corner of the block, and select the destination page from the menu.
